Main Character Moment or Nah?
As a Grade 10 student, my first quarter has been a fascinating exploration into the world of the internet. From understanding its historical timeline to recognizing the key figures who shaped it, and from exploring various access methods to diving into the functionalities of web browsers, weblogs, and search engines, it's been a journey filled with learning and discovery.
One of the most significant things I've learned is that the internet didn't just appear out of nowhere. It was built step by step, with contributions from many brilliant minds. I discovered that people like Vinton Cerf and Tim Berners-Lee were instrumental in creating the internet as we know it today. Understanding their roles has given me a deeper appreciation for the technology I use every day.
I also learned about the different ways people access the internet, from the old dial-up connections to the high-speed broadband we use now. It made me realize how far we've come in terms of technology and accessibility. Exploring different internet browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Safari showed me that each has its own unique features and advantages.
Weblogs, or blogs, were another interesting discovery. I realized that anyone can share their thoughts and ideas with the world through a blog, which is a powerful tool for communication and self-expression. Finally, learning about search engines like Google and Bing helped me understand how we can efficiently find information online. I learned about keywords, algorithms, and how search engines rank websites to provide us with the most relevant results.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was dealing with the sheer amount of information available online. It was often difficult to determine which sources were credible and which were not. Another challenge was keeping up with the rapid pace of change in the tech world. New browsers, search engines, and blogging platforms seem to appear constantly, making it hard to stay current. Additionally, understanding some of the technical terms and concepts related to the internet was initially confusing.
To address the challenge of information overload, I learned to critically evaluate the sources I found online. I started cross-referencing information from multiple websites and looking for sources that were known for their accuracy and reliability. I also sought guidance from my teachers and librarians, who helped me identify reputable sources.
To keep up with the rapid pace of change, I made it a habit to read tech blogs and follow industry experts on social media. This helped me stay informed about the latest developments and trends. When I encountered technical terms or concepts that I didn't understand, I turned to online resources like dictionaries and tutorials. I also asked questions in class and look for clarification from my peers.
Moving forward, I want to continue expanding my knowledge of the internet and its various applications. I plan to dig deeper into topics like cybersecurity and data privacy to become a more informed and responsible internet user. I also want to explore the possibilities of creating my own blog to share my thoughts and ideas with others. The internet is a vast and continuously developing resource, and I'm excited to continue learning and growing with it.

Letter to the President
Dear Mr. President,
Mabuhay! I hope you’re doing fantastic!
I'm writing to you as a super proud Ilocano student from Ilocos Sur. I'm buzzing with ideas on how we can make our region even more amazing! I'm talking about giving our hardworking farmers a boost and showing off our incredible Ilocano culture. We're so thankful for your support in agriculture and promoting Filipino pride.
Ilocos is known for its strong, resilient people and its super fertile lands. We're talking about mountains of rice, garlic that packs a punch, and mangoes that are pure sunshine. Our farmers are the rockstars who feed our families and communities. But they face some tough challenges—water shortages, crazy price swings, and the effects of our changing climate.
But wait, there's more! Ilocos is bursting with unique culture! Think the dances that'll make you move, and crafts that are works of art! These traditions are what make us Ilocano, and we need to keep them alive and kicking for generations to come.
So, here's my wish list for making Ilocos even more awesome. Water works for our farms, let’s get those irrigation systems flowing, building and fixing them will give our farmers the water they need, especially when the sun is shining. Supercharge our products, let’s create cool places where we can turn our garlic, mangoes, and other goodies into even more amazing products! More money for our farmers, more jobs for our people. Ilocano culture, let’s shout it out! Let's support programs that show off our Ilocano culture to the world. Preserve our historical spots, promote our awesome crafts, and throw the best cultural festivals ever.
By doing these things, we'll not only help our farmers thrive but also preserve our unique Ilocano spirit for the future. Investing in our agriculture and supporting our culture will make Ilocos the place to be.
I'm super confident that with your support, we can make all of this happen and show the world just how amazing Ilocos is.
Agbiag ti Ilocandia!
Sincerely,
Aniesca
